In keeping with the approach taken in sections 10 and 11 of the Food Safety Act 1990, section 12 and regulation 8 of The Food Safety and Hygiene (England) Regulations 2013 deal with emergency prohibition notices and orders and hygiene emergency prohibition notices and orders respectively.

Regulations 9 and 10 of The Food Safety and Hygiene (England) Regulations 2013 have no equivalent in the Food Safety Act 1990.
